Median Raphe Cyst
Pathology:
Median raphe cysts are located in the dermis in the course of the raphe (between the meatus of the urethra and the anus). There is no connection to the urethra or epidermis; the cyst results from a defective closure of the raphe. The cyst wall is lined with urothelium, squamous epithelium, or glandular epithelium.
Treatment of Median Raphe Cysts
Disturbing or symptomatic cysts are excised.
